The Social Media & Blog Specialist helps design, develop, and create fresh and engaging content to extend company brands and product stories across digital channels. This role will create and deploy social media campaigns and promotions and will create copy and visual assets for social media and blogging avenues. Working within multiple brands, your expertise in content creation and online product promotion will be a valued skill at this family-owned business that creates vital products for first responders and utility workers.

Job Role:

  • Develop and support social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity
  • Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Manage daily social media posts across multiple brands
  • Work with the marketing manager to define and support important social media KPIs and measure the success of social media campaigns
  • Using analytical tools such as Hootsuite, Facebook Insights, and Google Analytics to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance and preparing monthly reporting on efforts
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Developing and managing social influencer programs
  • Generate, research, and pitch industry-related topics for blog posts
  • Write, edit, publish and promote industry-relevant content
  • Invite other bloggers or subject matter experts to partner on content
  • Monitor and respond to all comments on blog posts and social media channels
  • Create compelling copy and inspiring visual assets for the purpose of distribution across social media channels and website blog
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to create compelling content for social media and blog channels
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization for both social media and blog content
  • Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm and create content that supports goals
  • Special projects as assigned by the Marketing Manager and the Marketing Director

Key Skill & Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of social media experience including planning and managing content
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Please be able to submit your portfolio of social media creatives and writing samples
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, and other social media best practices
  • Understanding of SEO, web traffic metrics, and social media KPIs
  • Candidates should be comfortable using the following programs: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), HubSpot, Marketo, or similar technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a thorough understanding of social media management and strategy
  • Experience using various analytics software
  • Strong multitasking skills, able to work independently or as part of a team under deadlines
  • Comfortably working in the office and remotely, communicating by video conference technology
