One of our new products developed in 2012, released in 2013, is our Mainline Jacket. This jacket was developed as an all around jacket that is lightweight and will protect you from fire and arc flash dangers on the job.

The design was inspired by our Power Grid ¼ Zip base layer. One of the drawbacks to using the Power Grid fabric for an outer layer was that it was only rated for HRC 1, which is too low for a true outer layer. We worked with our mill to develop a new fabric that could meet HRC 2 protection with an arc rating of 12.6 Ebt, and NFPA 2112 UL certification for flash fire.

Using a unique blend of fibers the mill was able to create a new yarn, and a new fabric, that was very similar to the original Power Grid, but met the higher arc and flame resistance specifications. To that we added a durable water repellant finish so that the jacket provides good water resistance for light rain and snow. Like the original Power Grid fabric it has a 4-way stretch grid structure that is fire resistant and the high/low grid structure enhances airflow and dry time making the jacket breathable.

Though on the job protection is our number one focus we also wanted to design a jacket that is stylish and comfortable. The Mainline Jacket features two hand warmer pockets and a zippered chest pocket. It has extra-long sleeves with engineered thumbholes for better reach. The full-length zippered front with the stand up collar and a double-tail rear hem provides increased coverage.
