NEW PRODUCTS FOR 2014
In the past year we have worked hard with Polartec® to develop a brand new fabric that will improve a few of the FR clothing products we
provide. The new fabric has been designed to be TRI-compliant, certified for NFPA 2112 (Standard on Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Flash Fire), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace) and NFPA 1975 (Standard on Station/Work Uniforms for Emergency Services). Most importantly we were able to increase the protection on these garments most of them doubling the original arc rating.
Here are the products that will feature the new fabric in 2014
The new Elements™ Dual Hazard FR Sweatshirt will maintain what it’s most known for: the soft warmth and the wind and water protection, but now the product will be 20% lighter and the protection has increased from an Arc Rating of 9.1 cal/cm² to an HRC2 Arc Rating of 16.0 cal/cm².
Our Power Dry® Mid Weight Shirt now has a 25% high arc rating protection (from an arc rating of 8.1 cal/cm to an arc rating of 9.5 cal/cm) while becoming 20% lighter. This was a major factor in our development, to design the lightest HRC2 long-sleeve shirt. It’s now the perfect weight and protection to wear on its own on the hot summer days! We’ve also added a light color (gray) to keep you even cooler.
Our line of Power Grid garments (Power Grid® ¼ Zip Shirt, Bottoms and Beanie) are now also going to be redesigned with the new fabric. This will decrease the product’s weight by 20% while increasing the HRC rating from 1 to 2, the original had an arc rating of 5.2 cal/cm² while the new products will have an arc rating of 15 cal/cm². We have also increased what we like to refer to as the “fluff factor,” making the products one of the softest on the market. Seriously in there a need for FR pajamas?
